A letter to our volunteers, supporters, and friends: April 9, 2008 Dear friends of Onefest: As many of you are probably wondering about the future of Onefest, we want to let you know where we feel God is leading us as a team. Our team is not planning to lead the festival this year or in the future. Many factors have created this decision and we want to share those with you. The original mission of Onefest is “to bring the body of Christ together as one heart, one mind, one church, one BODY reaching one world.” This continues to be the mission of our core team, but we feel God may be leading us all in different strategies to accomplish that mission. The time, manpower, and financial resources it takes to commit to managing a quality festival are considerable. Many on our team are not able to give forth this amount of commitment. We had hoped that Onefest would grow quickly enough to sustain the elements of a nationally recognized festival, but again, this is a daunting task and we are not convinced God is even directing us to do that. Several on our core team are committed to many other ministries and we feel God is continuing to direct us in those ministries. The Cedar Valley has been blessed in recent years with many quality concerts. We like to think that Onefest has had something to do with that. Once many of the national booking agents realized there is a strong concert going fan-base here, they started booking more shows. This led to us competing within the Christian concert industry, which we feel we were not called to do. We do, however, feel excited that national promoters continue to want to provide quality shows here in the Cedar Valley. With all this being said, we want you to know how much we appreciate your continued support, your encouraging emails, and phone calls about how you loved Onefest 2005 and Onefest 2006. It has truly been an amazing experience for all of us on the core Onefest team and we were blessed to be a part of such a great ministry. We are excited about two opportunities for Oneness in the Cedar Valley. Love Cedar Valley, happening May 3 rd, is a kindness outreach event.
